Are you ready for a Repurposeful Monday Tuesday?  Good, 'cause
I've got some darling garden ideas to share with you today.
(And a little surprise at the end!)
If you renovate a bathroom don't throw out the old sink.
It would make a charming planter.

This sink was mounted on an antique sewing machine base.

Before and after sink:

What a contradiction - a tranquility garden in a purple
sink.  I'd have left it in it's original condition.

Some sinks are turned into bird baths:
The homeowners completed the bathroom theme with a vintage mirror.

Placing rocks or shells in the bottom of
the sink helps purify the rain water.

That's right - the base of this contemporary bird bath is a lamp.

These bird baths are composed of glass bowls and vases:

Imagine how this bird bath sparkles in the sun light.

Well, as promised, here's my little surprise:
The Mid-Century Modern house that Bob and I just renovated had
the original small pink sink in one of the bathrooms.  Bob thought
I had lost my mind when I said I wanted to put it in our garden.
On the bottom of the cast iron sink is imprinted Made in the United
States of America, American Radiator and Standard Sanitary
Corporation, along with the date of July, 1956.
It still had the original hardware.   Now, how can I
talk him into bringing home the cast iron tub?!

Hope you had a nice Memorial Day.
Have a great Tuesday!

  2. I love the way the old sinks have been recycled...especially like the one sitting on the sewing machine base. Thanks for sharing, Jan.
