How did Friday get here so quickly?!  Are you ready to
view some whimsical Before & After projects?

Let's start with a nautical success:

Mid-Century Modern pieces are still reasonably
priced in thrift shops and used furniture stores.
They're excellent for restoring or for painting:

Thrift shops are wonderful venues to
find chairs that need a little TLC:

Faux fur completely changed this dining room chair's personality:

A pair of vintage chairs had interesting
shapes but the fabric was quite boring:

So sophisticated now!

An ingenious DIY-er inherited a distressed
dresser when their neighbor moved:
Such an imagination:

A dated free-standing kitchen cabinet
received a whimsical makeover:

This vintage armoire was screaming for a makeover:

A thrift shop vanity was sorely
in need of some TLC:

The accompanying mirror was painted
and sold separately:

A large, dated entertainment center was painted
and wainscoting was added:
A tired TV cabinet now provides storage in a nursery
Before             After

A mousy little table was given a whole new direction:
Ever wonder what a sofa frame looks like after
the upholstery fabric has been removed?

This tired looking chair wasn't upholstered -
it was given a new slipcover:

Thinking of recovering a boring desk chair?
Go a little wild!

This darling old riding airplane was found at a flea
market and was in desperate need of restoration:

In the hands of a professional restorer, antiques
and vintage pieces can be brought back to life,
often better than when they were new.

Have a great weekend, friends.  See you on Monday.

  1. Lots of great before and afters this week, Jan. I ♥♥♥ the cobalt end tables!

  2. Love all the before's and after's. How in the world do you find all these examples? You always amaze me.

  3. I love these pictures, it is so much fun making the old new again. And even better than new.
I really liked the antique blue dressers. I just did our kitchen in baby peach and antique blue.
