A 1930s Art Deco apartment building in the Laurel Heights
area of San Francisco was given a surprisingly modern facelift:

As beautiful as this renovation turned out, I truly wish they had
restored the simple and elegant building back to its original design.
Very rarely do I write off a home as beyond saving
but I'd be tempted to throw in the towel on this one:
Stunning.
For these next two renovations, it might have
been less work to build completely new homes:
You'd think that it would be impossible to
change the profile of a split-level home:
