Have you ever heard of a bodkin or a bodkin case?

In a sewing context a bodkin is a small blunt needle-like instrument
used for pulling tape or ribbon through a casing or hem.  Every lady's
maid kept one handy and, of course, she needed a case in which to store
it.  Antique cases are imminently collectible, especially the ones made
from precious metals, porcelain, bone or wood.

A rare treasure - this antique bodkin case from
the 1700's contains the original rusted bodkins.

of a chess piece.  Note the pin cushion on the top.

The silver mark dates this French needle case to the mid 1800's.

An expensive type of collectible, antique bodkin cases are quite rare and
need to be authenticated before being purchased. Happy hunting!

Good Monday morning!  I'm excited to share some
clever repurposing ideas for our feathered friends.

A used outdoor light fixture found at a thrift shop makes a perfect
feeder.  Remove the wiring and glass and then just spray paint.

A pretty plate glued to a vase makes a petit Victorian bird bath.

The curved spoon hook adds a darling touch.

Craft stores sell plain bird houses that can be
painted and embellished with household gadgets.

Yes, there are a myriad of items in your house that
can be repurposed into bird-friendly accessories.

Congratulations to the British on the birth of their latest Royal Princess!

As when her older brother was born, the adorable little girl's name
had not been announced at the time of her leaving the hospital.

Prince George Alexander Louis

Let's have a guessing contest!  After all, collectible memorabilia with her
name and initials will go into production as soon as the details are released.

Here are my guesses for the name of the Royal Princess:

Princess Charlotte Diana Alice Elizabeth

Princess Alice Diana Charlotte

and, my favorite:

Princess Snooki Brittany Lindsay Apricot

Okay, your turn!

UPDATE:  5/4/15 Just announced that the Royal Princess has been
named Charlotte Elizabeth Diana.  I wasn't too far off the mark!
