Do you sometimes feel as if you live in an Animal House?!

Not since the Egyptians honored their cats in the pyramids
have as many people decorated with their pets in mind.

This lucky kitty has her own space under the stairs.

Mia's private bedroom is also underneath the stairs:

pooch beds! Check code before building. In our area we tried to do this but we were required that each nook have it's own sprinkler. Absolutely ridiculous. May still do it now that we're done with county inspections.

  1. OMG I love it - all of it. Funny I am going to be redecorating my house soon - as cheaply as I possibly can - I was just thinking on how I could have a place for our kitty to eat, high enough so that her GS sister can't reach it and eat it all. It has to be in the kitchen and it has to look good.

    I love my fur babies!

    1. Thanks! When the youngest left home for college the boys got a bump-up in status. We call them our little boys in furry pajamas and thy definitely rule the roost. Good luck with your redecorating. And you're such a conscientious pet owner to keep their welfare in mind as you're designing the changes. -- Jan

  2. So many good ideas, but if you have dogs like ours, they just sit where you want to sit!

    1. Amen! We're always stepping around their sprawled out bodies draped over the sofa or lounger. Maybe we SHOULD get a larger-than-life portrait of the boys . . . . . . .

  3. That's a really cute post. We have animals here, more like a zoo sometimes. Love the gates.

  6. I put in a window at floor level under a worktable in my studio for The Square Ones to look outside. That way they can see all the critter that walk by my home. Javelinas, bocats, mountain lions, coyotes, lots of quail, and all kinds of birds. Plus doggie doors from several rooms to others, They love it.
    They rule the home.
