Trend Alert?

Have you noticed a new/old trend in wall treatments lately?
The 1980's accent wall has 'resurfaced' with a new twist!

Partially wall-papering one wall or a portion of a wall has become quite chic.

In addition to wallpaper, other types of accent wall treatments - including
paneling, brick and just plain paint - have made a popular comeback.

An orange and grey pairing might not have been my first thought for a
color combination but it's dramatic and definitely has the 'pop' factor:

What first appears to be wallpaper is actually a stencil treatment:
Beautiful results with a stencil and a can of paint.

If you're truly brave consider papering an
accent wall with fabric like the photo above.

If you're off for the long 4th of July holiday, think about spending a couple
of hours creating your own accent wall.  You might be surprised at the results.

  1. Your blog is so well done, it is easy to see that you put a lot of work into it. It is also easy to see why my dear wife is always coming up with "honey-do lists". With inspiration like this, how can she not, LOL
    Happy 4th of July!

  3. I'm a big fan of the industrial/new york appartment style brick feature wall. Definitely something i'd like to try at some point :)

  4. In that case, my kitchen is the epitome of style. And so is the family room, with the half ripped off wallpaper.
