What better Christmas present to give than
the gift of learning?

Give a friend a gift wrapped package containing 2 sets of knitting needles and 2 skeins of yarn.  You guys are going to learn to knit together!

There are thousands of videos on YouTube that can teach you to do just about anything.  Search for knitting for beginners and you'll be amazed at the number of videos that pop up.  After you feel comfortable with the beginniner instructions you can progress to the more advanced.

Blissfully Domestic featured a post of short videos that give step-by-step knitting instructions.  For less than $20 worth of supplies you can give a unique gift that lasts a lifetime and one that the recipient will never forget.

How about giving a friend or a loved one cooking lessons?  And join them!  A great source for classes of all kinds is a community college website.  Many of the non-credit courses last a few weeks and the tuition is often extremely reasonable or free.

Most colleges offer community development courses and the subjects are fascinating - genealogy, foreign languages, art, photography, even practical topics such as how to do your own income tax and home improvements.

Taking a class is a lot more fun when
you share the experience with a friend.

Today's fleaChic is short and sweet.  Have a great day!

  1. I think this is a wonderful gift idea! Recently I took knitting classes back in SC where I lived and I loved it. They also held a knitting social every week, a great way to meet friends.

I love to receive or make homemade fists rather than purchased gifts. Much more fun!

  2. What a great idea. It's so hard to find meaningful presents that will give lasting enjoyment. I'm going to see what I can do for some of my friends. Jx

  4. These are really great ideas for the person who has everything is hard to buy for. My son's have girlfriends and the free cooking lessons would be a great time to get to know them better.
