Friday Fun

How sad is it that my idea of fun is viewing Before & After projects? Seriously, I need to get out more. While I work on my social calendar, enjoy the fruits of someone else's labors:

P.S. 'Script' furnishings are hot right now -

fabrics, rugs, wallhangings, etc. I really love this trend;

it's so different and interesting.

Metal trunks and footlockers are so popular now right.

Although this re-do only involved taping and painting,

it totally transformed an ordinary metal locker into

a darling side table with extra storage.

Featured on Home By Heidi, this living room looks
"fine" (i.e., boring) but, with the installation of
brick pavers on the wall, the room changes completely.

So warm and interesting now - not just "fine" anymore!
Even though there are no 'before' photos, the pass-through
wall on the right of the photo was created by cutting
through the old wall and trimming it out. Charming.

This next project features a dresser that
was just about beyond salvaging:

Becky, at Doodle Bug, did a wonderful job renovating
a piece of furniture that was headed to the trash heap. I
like her distressing technique that can be viewed here.

Old houses can have small, quirky spaces. Below is

A guest bath face-lift for under $200? Yes!

Painting and replacing the sink top and light fixture completely

transformed this dated bathroom. One thing that kept the cost

in line was trimming out the mirror instead of replacing it.

Unless you've lived on the moon for the last few years you've got to be familar with the incredibly talented, beautiful interior designer Sarah Richardson. Featured on HGTV, her show, Sarah's House, is one of the most popular design shows on television.

While Sarah did not accomplish this amazing bathroom renovation for under $200, she did create one of the most beautiful transformations ever featured on fleaChic:

March 1st - Snow falls in Florida!

Actually, snow did fall in Florida 32 years ago today so we'd better not discount Winter just yet. While many people associate the Sunshine State with 'beachy' decor, pastels and palm prints, decorators also satisfy pallets with a taste for the traditional - antiques, brass and velvet.

Before Spring makes its formal debut, let's take a look at several designs that include velvet's soft, sensual texture.
