Today's Before & After Friday features antique and
vintage toys - specifically cars and trucks and things that go!

This vintage toy Wyn tin dump truck was eaten up with rust:

It's hard to believe that this is the same toy tow truck, isn't it?


This turn-of-the-century French toy touring car was
missing the retractable roof, lamps and a few other parts:

This antique mechanical toy was basically just a handful of parts.
A new driver, windshield, brake lever, steering wheel and fender
bracket were handmade.  Restoration also included springs,
gears and the wind-up mechanism.



Often replacement parts are impossible to find.  In
that situation the parts have to be made by hand.

Antique and vintage toy cars and trucks are some of the most popular
of collectibles.  Don't be deterred if they need a little TLC.

If you plan to flea market this weekend remember
to wear sunscreen and drink lots of water.
