Memorial Day

The last Monday of May is reserved for honoring those who
have made the ultimate sacrifice in the defense of our country.
Funeral cortege at Arlington National Cemetery,
Washington, D.C.

We express our heartfelt gratitude to those service men and women
and to their families.  The sacrifice of those left behind never ends.

When you have the opportunity and when it is age appropriate,
walk the youth of your family through a veterans' cemetery.  It
is an experience that will stay with them throughout their lives.

    1. I've been privileged to attend a couple of military funerals and the care the service men and women display in their duty always brings tears to my eyes. One of the most moving experiences a person can have.

  2. Our family is incredibly blessed to have had so many members serve in the armed forces and not to have lost one life during their enlistment. Yes, scars remain but we can handle scars. It's the permanent loss following a selfless act that has always tugged at my heart.
