Today marks a sad day in clown history.  On this date in 1956 the official Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus gave their last performance under a tent.  In 1957 John Ringling North, nephew of John Ringling, made the corporate decision to use existing venues, such as sports stadiums, instead of the labor intensive tents.

Maybe it's the mystique of circus lore but, for whatever
reason, we're still in love with the idea of the Big Top.

Circus themes are especially awesome in nurseries.

Be gentle with the clowns in your life today.
They're remembering the good old days.
