It's Friday!  And you know what that means -
yup, Before & After projects!

Let's kick off today's post with a truly fab makeover:
Before

After
What I love about this project is that these types of dressers can still
be found at thrift shops for relatively reasonable prices.  Click here
for the step-by-step tutorial.  P.S. Awesome hardware update!

This next project is a combination of old and new techniques:
The chest was stripped then the drawers were
stained and the rest of the chest was painted.

The same technique was used on a distressed side table:

A piece that was rescued from being put out on the curb:
How many times have you walked past a dated piece of furniture
without considering the possibilities?  Me, too - lots of times!

Do you have an awkward space in your home that
just doesn't seem to have it's own identify?

Joy, from Beautiful Protest, reinvented the under-used cove
between her living room and large eat-in kitchen.   It's now
a music room/office.  Great job, Joy!

As hubby and I struggle through our Miss Money Pitt renovation
I'm always on the lookout for (insane) people who undertake the
same type of project.  Boy, did I find one:

Living Room - Before

Sara Gray and her husband, Eric, of Portland, Oregon, undertook
a massive project - completely renovating their dated home from
top to bottom.  Here are some of the amazing Before & After photos
 of their incredible renovation journey.

Let's go back to the foyer:

I am crushing all over these hardwood floors!
(And I might have added a chandelier.)

That's Sara behind the camera - hi, Sara!  It's almost impossible
to photograph a small bathroom without including yourself.

I just can't take my eyes off of those gorgeous floors!

And, now, the room you've all been waiting for - The kitchen:

Incredible After
I know!  So sophisticated and sleek.  Click here to

Thanks so much for stopping by.  As you can tell from the jumbled
format of today's post, I'm still struggling without Google Chrome.
For some mysterious reason my laptop refuses to accept my
numerous attempts of trying to reinstall it.

Hopefully, I'll have the problem cleared up this weekend.  See you Monday!

  3. I think the kitchen looks great. It's amazing how much more open it appears. I also like the laundry room, it looks practical, and very neat.

    1. The kitchen and the laundry room are the 2 most important rooms in the house - they really "earn their keep" as we say in the south. The kitchen in today's post truly is amazing. Thanks so much for stopping by.

  6. Some really great makeovers there. I feel a need to find an old dresser to do up, no idea where I would put it but they look so awesome!

    1. Isn't it amazing what can be accomplished with sandpaper and a can of paint?! Dresser makeovers are some of my favorite items to post. Have a great weekend.

    2. Eres mujer fuerte
      trabajas sin cesar
      de día y de madrugada
      no sientes ningún pesar
      al tener que levantarte
      a tu hijito cuidar
