March is just around the corner and you know
what that means - our little feathered friends will be returning home from a Winter in warmer climes.

It's time to set up the birdbaths and clean out the birdhouses or, in some cases, replace them all together.

If you're thinking of building a birdhouse, here are some darling avian condos created with repurposed hardware and household items that might give you some inspiration:

A vintage toaster has been given a new purpose.

This is some pretty fancy birdhouse real estate, isn't it?!

Tins are a great foundation for building
one-of-a-kind repurposed birdhouses:

LOVE the cooking theme, especially the vintage cookie cutter.

How darling are those building blocks?

But, at the end of the day, sometimes the simplest ideas are the best.

  1. Perfect timing - I have LITERALLY just watched a blue tit fly into one of our birdhouses for the first time this year x Jane

  2. Been looking out for whose going to get the best bird house we have, But so far no takings.
Love the simple shoe. We have nailed an old wooden Sabot( French clog )in one of the trees hoping maybe the tiny wren might move in.

  3. These are wonderful . . . so whimsical and so creative.
Thank you for taking the time to put this delightful post together.
My husband has got to see these.
If you would like a new follower, he follows everyone that follows him.
That is something that we both believe in doing.
He loves building birdhouses and your post is so very inspiring.
Steve doesn't post often, but when he retires I know that his blog will become more active.
    You can find it here
Thank you for these great ideas.
    Have a marvelous week.
    Your blogging sister, Connie :)

  4. And I'm off making bird houses!!!! Thanks for these great ideas, the shoe is a classic!!!! The whole idea of helping out our little winged friends with more shelter and feeders in the garden appeals to me:)

  5. Thank you for visiting my blog and introducing me to yours!
What lovely birdhouses, they make mine look positively boring! Maybe if I hang a shoe on the wall the birds will come and use it - they aren't using the 'real thing' !!!
