Visit our Online Flea Market!

October 5, 2012

Visiting your local pumpkin patch or farmers' market is
a great Fall weekend outing.  And, what's more fun than creating Halloween decorations and crafts with the kids?

Here's a little inspiration!

Yes, it IS possible to decoupage a pumpkin!
Pick up some Mod Podge at your local craft
store and start cutting up fabric.

Simply wrap black boas around a styrofoam
form to create a raven of a wreath.

You know how the inside of a carved pumpkin gets yucky
after just a few days?  Right after carving and scraping out
the pumpkin, spray the inside with a mixture of bleach and
water or simply coat it with Vaseline.  Either one of these
treatments will extend the life of your Halloween creation.

Thrift stores, flea markets, and consignment stores are great resources
for inexpensive clothing you might buy just for the buttons.

Get out the BeJeweler and bling out your pumpkins!

How about painting a pumpkin?

Got old sweaters, fabric, or yarn lying around?

Burlap is a relatively inexpensive material
and 'produces' a charming pumpkin.

Scour thrift stops year 'round for Halloweenish ribbons and notions.

A vintage chenille bedspread was used to
make these charming bumpy pumpkins.

Want to create instant October aura?  Remove the stem from
a small pumpkin and insert a votive candle.  Easy and inexpensive!

Decals and stickers are simple decorating materials that children love to work with and quickly transform bottles, pumpkins, and plates.

Do your young ones want to make funny teacher gifts?

You'll find inexpensive Halloween supplies at the Dollar Tree or discount store.  Pour yourself a cup of herbal tea and visit these sites (that I thank for special photo credits) for even more Halloween craft inspiration:

Have a fun and creative weekend!
