It's Friday!  Let's dance!!!

Settle down.  Before we get crazy let's pause to appreciate the hard
work of others in today's practical Before and After projects.

Keep an eye open for used chandeliers the next
time you're at Goodwill.  Here's why:
Chandelier before:

Chandelier after:
Great for the patio.

Believe it or not this lamp was found in a dumpster:

This sad little end table received a professional makeover:

Most of us would have hauled this
Sheraton arm chair to the street:

Boy, would we have been wrong.

This Mid-Century Modern Fler armchair was
bought off eBay and beautifully restored:

When you see the results of this vintage nightstand
makeover you're going to be shocked.

See?  Shocking!

This thrift shop side table was turned into
a darling beach cottage accessory:

This Early American hutch was in good
condition but needed to be 'refreshed':

I've heard of tub refinishing but I wasn't
aware of bathroom tile refinishing:

Having a professional refinish the tiles costs about
10% -15% of what replacing them would cost.

Here's another great bathroom transformation:

Stunning!

I'm conflicted over this project:

The after looks really nice but I like natural
stone a lot.  It just looks more, well, natural.

A tiny guest room looked fairly drab before
the homeowners got 'hold of it:

Lath wood was used to panel one accent wall
and the results are charming.

A beach house was renovated and the first big project was the kitchen.
Even though it had tons of cabinets it desperately needed an update:

After:

The house's laundry room was relocated to the side of
the house and the old space became a guest room.

Adorable!

What a treat - a repurposing B&A.  Pallets are
cheap and plentiful and have so much potential:

Before the owners painted the dining room
it looked so dark and dreary:

I'm always amazed by the drastic changes
a can of paint can make.

Today's last project is truly inspiring:

A truly beautiful job.

Speaking of beautiful - I hope your weekend is!

  4. I don't mind the pained stone as much as the bookcase to the right. Much to cluttered.
Love the tiny guest room but those are the tiniest beds I have ever seen.
I so enjoy reading your blog.

    cheers, parsnip
