Boy, am I glad it's Friday.  And you know how we celebrate
Fridays around here - with Before & After projects!

These antique French chairs were almost beyond salvaging:

Such beautiful results!

This vintage chair was reupholstered from
fabric created from recycled plastic bottles:

Molly Andrews and Tracy Jenkins are partners in Chairloom,
an upholstery company in Ardmore, PA.  Here are a few
examples of their amazing talents:

Molly and Tracy seek out vintage and antique furniture
that they can bring back to life with beautiful fabrics.

 Distressed Mid-Century Modern chairs . . . . .

. . . were cleverly upholstered in retro fabric:

An antique settee was given a contemporary makeover:

Granted, the upholsterer did a wonderful job but I'm just not sure
I'm in favor of the black painted wood and white leather fabric.

This faded beauty was truly in very sad shape:

There's no accounting for taste  - I question the fabric choice in this project.

This channel back chair was found on Craigslist for $40:

Another channel back chair received a
slightly different upholstery treatment:

A tired swivel chair received some incredible TLC:

This pair of vintage chairs was recovered
and updated by removing the 'skirt':

When viewing Before & After projects it's easy to forget the hard work
involved in resurrecting a piece of furniture to it's former glory:

Oh, my.  This antique settee was pitiful:

Well done.  Truly stunning.

  1. Wow! All of these are great! Some people have much more patience than I do! I would certainly have said their best days are behind them on some of these!

    1. You're right - a few of the pieces looked beyond salvaging. Those are the ones I admire the most - it's wonderful to give a piece of furniture an extended, useful life.

    1. One of the things I love about upholstery projects is that if you get tired of the fabric you can just re-upholster it again!
