Friends, I need to have surgery - to have my WANT bone removed!

Lately, I've got a bad case of the 'must haves' which actually means
'dream on'.  But who could blame me for dreaming of . . . . .

. . . . . anything in this photo . . . . .
(but especially the lake view)

. . . . . a 1920s Art Deco diamond cluster ring . . . . .

. . . . . real French bread . . . in France . . . . .

Web Urbanist
. . . . . an abandoned Victorian row house to rescue . . . . .

Georgiana Design
. . . . . a small Providence, RI, guest cottage . . . . .

Source
. . . . . this kitchen . . . . .

Cabbage Rose
. . . . . and a refrigerator with a built in wine chiller . . . . .

Black Hands
. . . . . antique wooden glove forms . . . . .
(seriously?  glove forms?  Oh, you silly dreams)

. . . . . a chicken crate coffee table . . . . .

Here & There
. . . . the courage to hang bold striped wallpaper . . . .

. . . . . a Jane Austen themed vacation . . . .

Cindy Pineo
. . . .  crocks and more crocks . . . . .

The Vintaquarian
. . . . and more crockery . . . .

. . . . . a claw tub garden . . . . .

Happy Day Out
. . . . . more time for the Needle Arts . . . . .

. . . . and more time for the Reading Arts . . . .

Tulin
. . . . sigh . . . no explanation, right? . . . .

. . . . a fantasy bed. . . . .

My French Country Home
. . . . . this awesome kitchen island . . . .

. . . . and, of course, world peace, the end of suffering,
hunger, and disease and for everyone to love each other.

Every few months I have to purge my selfish Wants
and remind myself to appreciate my many Blessings.

But, gosh, did you see that kitchen island?  Want-bones can be very irritating.

    1. Wants Bones are similar to your appendix except they're much more likely to get inflamed and are the dickens to remove!

  2. That cute little cottage is close to where I live. It stands in the grounds of a place called Lanhydrock House in Cornwall. I have visited the house a couple of times and it's beautiful :-) I love your blog I always find it so inspirational.

    1. It's a closely held medical secret that Want Bones are contagious! How else can you explain the effect your neighbor's new car has on your husband?! haha

  5. I have no idea what you're talking about, I think these are all very realistic :P That's the wonderful thing about blogging and places like Pinterest; collecting snippets of things we would like in our lives. Mine are filled with linens...maybe I just need more sleep

    1. Yes, it's wonderful to fantasize through Pinterest and the blogisphere. If there had been an internet when I was growing up my Want Bone would be the size of Texas by now! -- Jan

  6. Beautiful images! I think assembling a virtual collection is so much more practical than trying to jam all sorts of real things into one's home and life. Or so I tell myself!
