Visit our Online Flea Market!

April 24, 2015

Everyone who shops at thrift stores, yard sales and flea markets
knows that used clothing is available in abundance at very
reasonable prices at these venues.

So today's Before and After Friday features clever ideas
for restyling and repurposing previously owned fashion.

Click here for the tutorial on how to turn a
regular cardigan into a cent-sational cardigan!

Got denim?  Got lace?

What would you say if I told you that this creation is on sale for $65?
The trend is called prairie rustic and it's basically re-sewn
used clothing into hippie-inspired bohemian chic.

Basically ribbon accents were added to this sleeveless
blouse and it looks like a new stylish piece.

Tattered Delicates is a thriving Etsy shop
that features altered used clothing:
I love it!

Sweet Magnolias is another online craft
shop that markets re-structured clothing:

A pair of old jeans and a twin sheet were
re-fashioned into this designer skirt:

New clothing isn't the only thing you can create out old clothing.
A stack of old sweaters were made into a beautiful throw:

A used sweater went
from this:                                 to this:
 Here's how:

Do you want a one-of-a-kind designer bag for free?
Shop your own closet and fabric scraps!

 You'll need:
a handbag
cotton fabric with a large floral pattern
painter's tape
craft paint
2 small plastic dishes
2 brushes
scissors
 Tape the hardware

Give the bag a heavy coat of paint and let dry

Cut out floral designs and decoupage onto the dried paint

Brilliant!

If you're out thrifting this weekend take a closer look at the used
clothing and accessories that are available.  Put your creativity
to work and make yourself some stylish additions to your wardrobe.
