It's Wednesday and we all need a good laugh.  Yes, it's another episode of

Lord, what were they thinking?!

Grandma surprised Jimmy by repurposing grandpa's Crown Royal bags:

The Scorpion King design line?

"Did you measure twice?" she asked.
"Yes, dear," he replied.
"Measure again," she urged.
"No need," he said.
He should have measured again.

This antique bed warmer looks too much like
a bed pan for me to use as an accessory.

This gives new meaning to The Time-Out Chair.

Giant peacock dive bombing at 10 o'clock.  No sleep for you.

Gosh, that's not creepy at all.  (Yet another
reason why the 70's were so weird.)

No words.  And that's no pun.
Years from now, after seeing this photo, one of our grandchildren
will blog 'Gosh, that's not creepy at all.  Yet another reason why
the 20-teens were so weird.'

The perfect gift for a Star Wars fan - a Jabba The Hutt sofa.

Just like half of all doctors graduate in the bottom
half of their class, the same applies to architects:

The Number 1 clue that your apartment building
might have been an old department store.

And April's NO Residential Design of The Month:
The real estate ad stated home office with a bath.

Well, now, isn't that clever?

Is there's a 4 or 5 year old in your family or the family of
friend who is graduating from kindergarten this year?
Give them an extra large t-shirt with the year of their high school
graduation monogrammed on it.  Instruct the family to take a
photo of the child in the shirt every year and then display the pictures
at their graduation party.

If you have a little one who is just discovering the amazing world of
reading transform their dresser with the help of their favorite book.

Pre-teens can be very hard to entertain.
Introduce them to the joys of crafting through decoupage.

And around the house . . . . . .

WHO thought of this idea?

Greatest Murphy bed camouflage ever:

old pillow into a new accessory.  Click here for the easy tutorial.

I love clever people!

Invite your friends over for a special wine tea party.
Don't forget to lift your pinky.

Everyone who shops at thrift stores, yard sales and flea markets
knows that used clothing is available in abundance at very
reasonable prices at these venues.

So today's Before and After Friday features clever ideas
for restyling and repurposing previously owned fashion.

Click here for the tutorial on how to turn a
regular cardigan into a cent-sational cardigan!

Got denim?  Got lace?

What would you say if I told you that this creation is on sale for $65?
The trend is called prairie rustic and it's basically re-sewn
used clothing into hippie-inspired bohemian chic.

Basically ribbon accents were added to this sleeveless
blouse and it looks like a new stylish piece.

Tattered Delicates is a thriving Etsy shop
that features altered used clothing:
I love it!

Sweet Magnolias is another online craft
shop that markets re-structured clothing:

A pair of old jeans and a twin sheet were
re-fashioned into this designer skirt:

New clothing isn't the only thing you can create out old clothing.
A stack of old sweaters were made into a beautiful throw:

A used sweater went
from this:                                 to this:
 Here's how:

Do you want a one-of-a-kind designer bag for free?
