MOTIVATIONAL  FRIDAY

Need a dose of inspiration before you tackle a few projects this weekend?

You've come to the right place.

The turquoise dresser in this do-over was found at a thrift shop and begged for a facelift.  The transformation is amazing mainly due to the treatment on the top - it's not actual marble, it's paint!

Admit it - you've driven by discarded tables and chairs on the side of the road and wanted to take them home.  That's exactly how the office furniture below was rescued - from beside a dumpster!

When the DIYers came across the pitiful chest below they lifted the lid and found a surprise - legs!  It was actually a sideboard, not a chest.

I know - unbelievable!

What's better than a before and after project?
A Repurposeful Before and After:

Most of us are familar with the reproduction drop-leaf desks of the 1970's.
A very clever DIYer transformed the dated desk into a charming
Kitty Condo for her treasured, furry friends.

Darling!

What if you want to temporarily change the appearance of a
piece of furniture?  Consider making a slip cover.
Jessica Schiller of DIY Craft Ideas did just that and
totally transformed her rocker.
Tons of tutorials are available on websites such as YouTube.

These two storage chests were stripped,
stained, and given new hardware.
The new cushions made this project
Suddenly Sophisticated!

Maybe you're thinking about tackling a bigger project?
Take a look at this bathroom renovation:

The photos below were featured in a remodeling

One of the attractive aspects of this re-do is that they
used furniture that the owners' already had and only
purchased a few accent pieces.  So fleaChic!

A couple in Brisbane, Australia, actually fulfilled
my dream of renovating a vacant, old church.
Looks are certainly deceiving from the outside of this restoration:

Don't you love the sign over the bar?!

As with any project, renovating on this scale
certainly requires a sense of humor.

Go tackle a project you're put off and have fun with it!
