Yesterday would have been my father's birthday. He passed away many years ago but I think of him
everyday. A quiet man, Daddy often made spontaneous, profound observations. Like me, he held on
to just about everything and appreciated the simple, the common.
One Sunday afternoon we were browsing at a flea market. He stopped at a vendor's table, picked
up an old apothecary bottle and said, "You know, these beauties won't be here much longer." At
the time I really didn't pay much attention to the little antique bottle. But looking back, Daddy was
right - these beauties won't be here much longer.

While they're still available at flea markets and antique shops,
consider investing in vintage glass bottles.

We have a few of these because my husband used to dig them up when he was a little boy. I think the field where he found them must have been a dumping spot at one point, because he got quite a collection. I like the ones in this post containing the old photographs, that is a really fun idea. So many ways to use them and display them.
ReplyDeleteSarajean! I love old bottles, bird houses and other good things. I'm pretty sure we have a lot in common. Looking forward to seeing more from you! Glad we're connected. Your bio made me laugh out loud. :)
