a little 'umpht' - a degree of depth and interest without the expen$e and labor of wallpaper.

Cutting Edge Stencils is a great source for unusual and custom-looking stencils.
Their tutorials are easy and the results are unique and charming:
Designer Jenilee Raia used a cobblestone-type stencil but
chose shades of lavender and mauve. Unique and cool!
Royal Design Studio is another great online source for stencils and decals.
This ain't your grandma's border stencils from the 80's:

There are those among us with hidden talents just waiting to burst
forth. Don't suppress your artistic urges - release them and create
a custom mural or scene-scape:
If you're crafty, cut out patterns or squares of your favorite fabric,
starch the pieces then use fabric spray adhesive to paper the wall:

Blue painter's tape will be your best friend if you want to create an interesting stripe:

ReplyDeletei've been wanting to do something bold and graphic on the walls - once i get the wallpaper off! :) i especially love the big blue circles and the damask patterns. also the ones that look like collages on the walls. oh and the stripes. let's just say all of them! thanks for the inspiration!
