In the case of the house below, a brick repair job to the front right of
the house many years ago still shows. Painting the brick successfully

In addition to being painted this house also had other
renovations. They did an amazing job, didn't they?

I think they definitely look better painted where there have been repairs or alterations, and I also think the house with the brick at the lower level looked better when it was all painted. I think a lot of it depends on the look of the brick, some are quite ugly, but others it would be a crime to paint over.
ReplyDeleteI think it depends on the house, but I would love to paint our brick house. But then I would have to worry about maintaining it.
ReplyDeleteWe have always thought that one of the advantages of brick would be not having to worry about painting it!:-)
ReplyDeleteIt would be soooo hard to decide to paint, but I think everyone of the houses in your pics above look so much better after they were painted. Wonder how long the paint would last!
ReplyDeleteI would paint an ugly brick!!! Blessing~~~Roxie
ReplyDeleteI love the look of painted brick! The transformation in some of these 'before & after"s is amazing!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the look of the painted brick, not a fan of red bricks on houses. When we were applying to build our house here in Ireland the first planning condition was "no red brick"!
